Board Members (Volunteer)
2026 Board and Committee Recruitment
The GrowHaus is expanding its Board of Directors and committees as a strategic investment in our future. We are building board capacity to meet our three-year strategic plan, steward our financial health, and reflect the communities we serve. We are looking for Denver-based individuals who can help us:
Complement existing strengths: Build on the foundation of our current board members while bringing new skills and viewpoints.
Advance our three-year strategic plan: Expand our capacity to achieve organizational goals and seize new opportunities.
Strengthen financial stewardship: Add expertise in fundraising, resource planning, and budget strategy to anticipate financial pressures.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
We have a particular interest in connecting with people who bring experience in one or more of the following areas. Candidates do not need to fit every area, and we welcome people whose experience spans more than one.
Legal Counsel (Nonprofit Focus): Experience providing legal guidance and mitigating risk for mission-driven organizations, including nonprofit law (governance, compliance, and tax-exempt status), contract review, and policy analysis.
Social Justice & Immigrant Rights Leader: Recognized leadership in advocating for immigrant and refugee communities and communities of color, with knowledge of civil rights, community stability policy, and grassroots organizing.
Food Systems & Sustainability Specialist: Background in sustainable agriculture, food systems, supply chain management, or nutrition and wellness.
Government Relations & Policy Expert: Understanding of government processes and policy development, with experience in policy advocacy and legislative support for food justice.
Local Community Leader: Recognized leadership within the communities The GrowHaus serves, with a deep understanding of local cultural dynamics and the ability to connect community insights with organizational strategy.
Agricultural Innovator / Urban Farming Expert: Experience in urban agriculture, permaculture, or innovative farming techniques, with a focus on accessible, community-benefiting urban farming.
Technology & Data Analysis Expert: Skills in data analysis, impact measurement, and technology solutions for food distribution.
Capital Management & Community Investment Expert: Experience sourcing and managing capital investments for community-focused projects, and building partnerships with investors, philanthropists, and financial institutions.

Salary: $84,000-$93,000, dependent on experience

ABOUT THE ROLE
The GrowHaus seeks a talented Business Operations Director to play a key role in shaping our next chapter. Upon receiving several large grants, The GrowHaus is embarking on its next growth phase. We are in the midst of defining our next big project, which may involve real estate and facilities management and/or establishing a new product. We seek an experienced business leader with an entrepreneurial mindset to meet our growing needs, oversee our operations and finances, and help us build capacity to enhance our programming and impact. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced nonprofit or small business professional to join a dedicated team of food justice experts and contribute to the next big chapter of The GrowHaus.
The Business Operations Director will be tasked with managing the day-to-day operations at The GrowHaus. This work will include, but is not limited to, financial oversight and budget tracking, facilities management, human resources support, implementing internal systems for efficiency and accountability, supporting IT and general administrative functions, managing organizational insurance and risk protocols, and contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes. In collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Business Operations Director will ensure our internal systems are secure, efficient, and sustainable by driving our work around risk mitigation, financial planning, and legal compliance.
The ideal candidate is an experienced nonprofit or small business leader who is driven, strategic, and proactive in their approach to overseeing operations, managing teams, and overseeing sound financial planning practices. The Business Operations Director should be an experienced people manager who values personal and professional growth and can hit the ground running and learn on the fly while simultaneously applying learned practices and a forward-thinking mindset to enhance the internal structure of The GrowHaus. The ideal candidate should have a well-rounded background in nonprofit or small business operations, with the ability to support the Executive Director in managing all GrowHaus stakeholders and representing the organization to all external partners. This person must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and will be successful if they are highly organized, proactive, flexible, collaborative, grounded, optimistic, and a diplomatic leader with high emotional intelligence. We are seeking a hands-on individual who leads by example and promotes collaborative inclusion. Interpersonal skills, empathetic leadership, and commitment to stewarding a richly diverse culture are essential qualities for this position.
Bilingual Community Wellness Education and Engagement Manager
Hours: Full-time, exempt, Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Currently Reports to: Senior Manager or Director of Community Programs and Engagement
Salary: $58,500 + Comprehensive benefits package
Location: Denver, Colorado (on-site and at partner sites - very infrequent permission to work remotely)

The GrowHaus is a community-driven food justice organization serving Globeville, Elyria-Swansea, and the greater metro Denver area. We ensure healthy food is a right by offering food access programming, wellness education, and leadership development rooted in community needs. Our team collaborates with neighborhood residents to deliver culturally grounded, multigenerational programming.
Position Overview
The Community Wellness Education and Engagement Manager leads all aspects of The GrowHaus’ dynamic and community-led education and outreach programs. This role requires a high level of energy, passion for community-based work, and a commitment to innovation. This role builds capacity for the Director of Community Programs and Engagement through strong project management skills, effective delegation, and team leadership experience. This position oversees participant recruitment and community relationship-building and is responsible for the department's day-to-day decisions and programmatic direction. This position will collaborate closely with their supervisor, the Director of Community Programs and Engagement, to support the department’s growth and align program goals with The GrowHaus' strategic direction.
