WE ARE THE GROWHAUS

The mission of The GrowHaus is to cultivate community-led food justice through food access, wellness education, and leadership development.

The GrowHaus is a community-driven organization. We design our programs to be led and shaped by individuals with deep connections to the community, especially those who have experienced food insecurity firsthand. This includes people from the neighborhoods we serve and others from similar communities. We measure success by how youth, families, and neighbors build lasting systems of nourishment, support, and collective strength.

THE GROWHAUS VALUES

SECURITY
The GrowHaus partners with our community to provide opportunities for residents to be both financially and food secure.

COMMUNITY-LED BY DESIGN
Decisions are shaped by those most impacted. We build leadership from within the neighborhoods we serve.

SHARED OWNERSHIP
Leadership is developed, mentored, and distributed across the team and community. We do not operate from a hierarchy; we operate from accountability.

ENTREPRENEURIAL CULTURE
We take initiative, respond quickly, and build innovative solutions supporting impact and sustainability. We stay focused on our core strengths and collaborate with trusted partners to meet broader needs rather than spreading ourselves thin. We avoid personality-driven projects and focus instead on what serves the mission and the community.

ROOTED IN RELATIONSHIPS
We grow through trust and collaboration with residents, partners, government, and funders. Relationships are a strategic infrastructure.

CULTURAL INTEGRITY AND INCLUSION
We honor the languages, traditions, and identities of our team and community. We welcome a diversity of leadership styles, perspectives, and communication approaches. We intentionally make space for voices that reflect the richness of the communities we serve.

EQUITY IN MOTION
The GrowHaus acts on values by prioritizing racial and economic justice in every decision.
