The Seed2Seed Class of 2024 is underway! Participants are building their knowledge of food justice and becoming advocates for their community as they grow and distribute nutritious food for themselves and their neighbors.

Last month, Seed2Seed students visited a SustainEd Farm. They learned how to prepare land for seeds to flourish and strategies to make urban agriculture more sustainable through water conservation methods like mulching. As the seeds take root, Seed2Seed students deepen roots in their community. They spent an afternoon at The GrowHaus, alongside our community-led team, packing and distributing fresh produce boxes, which will reach over 5,000 people in the neighborhood!

On another adventure, Seed2Seed teens learned about indigenous planting methods like poly-cropping from food justice leader Chef Andrea Murdoch with Four Directions Cuisine. An Andean Native from Venezuela, Chef Andrea is passionate about growing ingredients for healthy meals that celebrate indigenous traditions and honor Mother Earth. These experiences are not just about growing food, they celebrate opportunities to infuse culture into our everyday leadership style.

Today, we ask you to support these teens in developing a leadership style that reflects their identity.

We are 30% of the way to our goal of 75 new members of our monthly giving community, También, to sponsor this year’s program. All También gifts made in 2024 will support Seed2Seed and our efforts to engage and encourage teen leaders throughout the year!

You can still join these teens on their leadership journey and help us reach our goal! Here are a few ways you can support these rising leaders.
